Terminology and Abbreviations

xView -- the product name used throughout this manual. The same software has been delivered under other names depending on the application: HView (HV), Data Smart View, AView, YTHView, IEView, INCView, MMI32, MMI9, AnalystSoft, GenSoft, ARTM and AnDiDAQ.

MMI - Man Machine Interface (a technical term, not a product name)

HMI - Human Machine Interface

SQL - Structured Query Language

MS - Microsoft

XML - Extensible Markup Language

ADO - ActiveX Data Object

SP - Setpoint or Service Pack, depending on context

IIS - Internet Information Server

RTU - Remote Terminal Unit

TOU - Time of Use

TOD - Time of Day
