Limitations and Cautions

Any function described in this manual as "for advanced use only" carries the following limitations and cautions.

1. The function may affect the timing of the system as a whole, because it can invoke an external program that is outside the control of the xView software.

2. The function may affect other programs on the computer, or data held on it, if the user configures a command that (for example) deletes data. In some cases the data cannot be recovered.

3. The function may cause the computer to hang, because the system hands control to another program and that program may itself stop responding.
